Last month, I made the big life decision to join the military… The Navy. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever see myself choosing this new life, yet here I am, super excited! It’s never too late to start over, and I’m a living, breathing testament that you can do hard things, however scary. We’re more resilient than we think or give ourselves credit for. I don’t back down from a challenge. Instead, I smile and say, “Bring it, let’s go.”
Before I dive into the details of how and why I made this choice, let’s rewind to the past year and a half since I’ve been back from Mexico. I’ve been hustling and working myself to the bone, still feeling like I’m in survival mode, and I am exhausted. My work/life balance? Nonexistent. I think back on my experience in Mexico, and it felt like a glimpse of what my life could be if I decide to leave it all behind and start anew.
Since I’ve been wanting to travel/move to Spain for the longest time, I figured, why not do it through the military? The benefits of traveling with the Navy far outweigh any cons. Plus, I’m ready for a new chapter in my life. Not to mention, I’ve been wanting to get back into shape so that I can be a better me, physically. Also, I want financial stability and there are so many financial benefits, it’s a solid YES for me.
I also remembered that back in February, I had a dream I joined the military. See my tweet above? I got chills! My gift to see the near future in dreams never ceases to amaze me.
I think my podcast episode explains it a bit better so let’s tune in, shall we? Feel free to comment on my podcast on Spotify or below.
