Austin is where it all began. Prior to living in Austin, I had no idea what a good bowl of ramen noodles does to the soul. Last year in August, I flew to Los Angeles, CA to visit my family and attend my friend’s wedding. To my surprise, my cousin Edwin was into ramen as well and he knew just the place to take me. We went to Silverlake Ramen and it did not disappoint. However, my absolute favorite place that I am obsessed with is Ramen Tatsu-ya. It’s been two years since I moved away and I found out they opened a new location in Round Rock, which is closer to where I used to live. This place will be my absolute first stop for a bowl of MiSo Not, with the siracha spice bomb and butter corn bomb on the side.
My cousin and I had a great time and it was such a laid back visit. I didn’t get a chance to go to the beach, but maybe next time.
I found a place here in Dallas called Jinya. It came close, but not like my Austin spot.
Have y’all had a good bowl of ramen? What’s your favorite spot and your favorite fixins?
